At Bonmont there is a firm commitment to protecting the environment. To that end, a whole series of initiatives has been developed, including the adoption of Environmental Monitoring Programme for all construction work which helps minimise the impact on residents and ensures that sound environmental practices are used. A Biodiversity Action Plan has also been instigated, which involves the naturalization of 20 hectares of land adjoining the golf course, planting native species of vegetation and protecting wildlife.
In order to reduce water consumption, a new tertiary water treatment plant is under construction, which will provide irrigation water for the golf course.
Amongst other measures, work on the implementation of an Energy Saving Plan in the Clubhouse and associated facilities is also under way and will involve permanent energy saving measures to improve energy efficiency and the incorporation of renewable energy sources.
